Will the Antichrist merely claim to be Israel’s Messiah—or will he go even further and claim to be the returning Jesus Christ?
In this episode, Chris White examines one of the most intriguing questions in biblical prophecy. Jesus repeatedly warned His followers about false christs who would perform great signs and wonders and deceive many. But are these warnings directed at false Jewish messiahs, false claimants to be Jesus, or both?
By exploring Matthew 24, John 5, 2 Thessalonians 2, and other key passages, this study weighs the biblical evidence and considers how the final deception could be tailored to deceive both Jews and professing Christians.
Topics covered:
- What Jesus meant by “false christs”
- Could the Antichrist claim to be the returning Jesus?
- Matthew 24 and the warnings about counterfeit second comings
- How John 5:43 relates to the Antichrist’s identity
- Why Christians could be vulnerable to a counterfeit Messiah
- The role of signs, wonders, and false doctrine
- How the Antichrist might appeal to both Jews and Christians
- What Scripture clearly teaches—and where caution is needed
